DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM DURANGO:

Go west on Highway 160, approximately 25 miles. Turn right (north) on CR 44. (You will see Echo Basin signs on both sides of the road). After ~ 2.75 miles, the road will turn right. The road is paved until the turnoff to Echo Basin Resort. Continue straight, onto the dirt road. Approximately .8 miles you will cross a cattleguard, and be in the National Forest on Road 566. A variety of wildflowers will be seen for the next 7 miles.


Rd 566 continues on, and gets rocky, and probably best to have 4WD. It loops all the way around back to intersect with CR44.
